POSTNORD
NEW UNIFORM DESIGN FOR
FOUR NORDIC COUNTRIES
The new uniform was rolled out in 2024/2025 and is worn by employees in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. I was responsible for the visual design and functional details, led the development of the fluorescent coral colour and created a unique PostNord cap. I was part of PostNord’s small project team and worked closely with the uniform manufacturer Ted Bernhardtz.
This is one of the most fun and important projects I have worked on. Every detail had to be considered from several perspectives, including aesthetics, brand, wearer comfort and function, safety, production cost and sustainability.
The assignment was to improve PostNord’s uniform from a safety, user and design perspective, while supporting the brand transition and building pride among employees. The design builds on PostNord’s brand qualities of being dynamic, fast-moving and customer-oriented.
Today most mail carriers also work as couriers in traffic, so the uniform has to be highly visible in both daylight and darkness. Together with NCS Colour Lab, we developed a unique fluorescent shade based on the coral colour of PostNord’s new visual identity.
The design is built for flexibility, with layers that can be put on or taken off as needed. All tops have the same visibility, whether it’s a thin functional shirt or a winter jacket.
THE COLLECTION
The trousers have been redesigned for comfort, with shaped knees, stretch panels at the back and an elastic waistband.
